Role summary
SpaceX is seeking a Build Reliability Engineer for its Starship program. This role involves developing and improving manufacturing, integration, and assembly processes from the ground up. You will be responsible for ensuring quality and managing build-induced vehicle risk by designing tooling, defining inspection procedures, and collaborating across diverse engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field and at least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, quality, or design engineering. Preferred skills include CAD software, welding techniques, NDT, data visualization, and knowledge of metallic manufacturing processes.
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
BUILD RELIABILITY ENGINEER (STARSHIP)
As a Build Reliability Engineer, you will be part of a widely interdisciplinary team developing global manufacturing procedures, maximizing quality through efficient production. You will employ “reliability by any means necessary”, stretching your expertise in fabrication methods, work instructions, tooling design, inspection procedures, data gathering/visualization, and broad collaboration. You will build new processes from the ground up, and routinely grade/improve execution of existing processes, driving continuous production improvement and ultimately be responsible for build-induced vehicle risk.
