Role summary
The Koch Internship Program (KIP) offers paid experiential learning at non-profits for early-career professionals. The Foundation for Economic Education (FEE), a non-profit advancing free society principles, seeks an Economics Olympiad Intern. This role supports FEE's international student competition, the Economics Olympiad (EO), focusing on student, teacher, and parent communications and assisting with the National Round event in Washington, DC. The intern will draft and track communications, monitor inquiries, support event logistics, maintain records, create participant materials, and work on new initiatives. This is an opportunity to combine a passion for free society ideas with communication and event execution skills.
About FEE The Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the economic, ethical, and legal principles of a free society. For 80 years, FEE has been committed to inspiring and educating individuals on the values of personal freedom, entrepreneurship, and sound economic thinking. Through various programs, publications, and events, FEE empowers individuals to understand the economic principles that drive prosperity and fosters a society rooted in individual rights and limited government. About FEE’s Student Engagement Team The Student Engagement department leads FEE's student-facing events. Through a mix of in-person and virtual programs, FEE partners with schools, educators, and organizations to introduce students to the principles of a free society, fostering deeper understanding and thoughtful discussions. From outreach and relationship-building to event logistics and execution, the Student Engagement team works to create engaging, high-impact experiences that challenge and inspire the next generation. Domestically, FEE's programs have reached students in nearly all 50 states. Internationally, FEE has a growing footprint in Latin America. About This Internship This role will assist with FEE’s new initiative, the Economics Olympiad (EO). EO is FEE's international student competition, running students through a School Round and a National Round on their way to an International Final Round. In Canada and the USA, the program is scaling to reach students at schools across both countries during the School Round, before bringing top performers together for an in-person National Round in Washington, DC. Behind the scenes, a small team of staff and partners keeps teachers, students, and parents informed and supported at every stage, helping turn the National Round into a well-run, memorable event. The Economics Olympiad Intern will be the front line of that experience — helping students, teachers, and parents get clear, timely answers as they move through the School and National Rounds, while also supporting the planning of the National Round event in DC. This is an opportunity for the ideal candidate to combine a love for the ideas of a free society with a passion for clear communication and flawless event execution.
