Role summary

Standish is seeking an Engagement Manager to lead client engagements, focusing on fund accounting, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation. The role involves maintaining client contact, managing expectations and engagement efficiency, supervising audit and tax preparation, and reviewing client communications. Business development support, including sourcing new clients and issuing proposals, is also part of the responsibilities. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred, along with 2+ years of public accounting or fund administration experience, or 1+ year as a manager in public accounting. Prior Private Equity/VC experience and knowledge of Partnership Accounting are preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.

Job Description

The Engagement Manager at Standish is responsible for managing and leading all client engagements. In conjunction with the Engagement Director, the Engagement Manager is responsible for supervising the Fund Controller and Associate in matters of fund accounting, capital account maintenance and financial statement preparation.

Essential Functions:

Maintain frequent client contact to keep abreast of ongoing fund activities

Manage client expectations

Manage engagement keeping in mind client needs, staff utilization and overall engagement efficiency

Supervise the audit and tax preparation process

Review all communications to the client and its investors on an ongoing basis

Assist with sourcing new clients, issuing proposals and overall business development

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree (Finance/Accounting/Economics concentration preferred)

2+ years of public accounting experience or equivalent

2+ years of VC/PE fund experience or fund administrator – OR – minimum 1 year asmanager at a public accounting firm

Previous Private Equity/VC experience and knowledge of Partnership Accounting,preferred

CPA preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word & Outlook

Familiarity with QuickBooks preferred

Compensation Range: $100,000+ annually

*Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
