The Market Manager is a localized multi-unit retail leader responsible for delivering sales growth, operational excellence, customer experience, and talent development across an assigned market of approximately 4-5 stores, while continuing to directly lead one Market Anchor Store.
The Market Manager is accountable for both Anchor Store performance and assigned market results, including sales results, customer experience, execution standards, coaching quality, operational consistency, talent development, and leadership bench strength. The Market Anchor Store serves as the market leadership, training, and execution hub for General Managers, Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and high-potential leaders.
Specifically, You Will:
Market and Anchor Store Leadership
Lead the assigned Market Anchor Store as a high-performing, standard-setting location that models strong sales routines, operational discipline, customer experience, talent development, and brand execution.
Maintain direct accountability for the Anchor Store’s day-to-day performance, including sales, contribution, labour management, customer experience, merchandising, compliance, associate engagement, and expense control.
Lead an assigned market cluster of approximately 4-5 stores by providing frequent coaching, follow-up, and execution support to store leaders within the market.
Sales Growth and Customer Experience
Drive sales performance across the Anchor Store and assigned market by reinforcing customer-first behaviours, sales routines, conversion opportunities, basket-building behaviours, services attachment, and referral-based business development.
Identify sales gaps, customer experience opportunities, and priority stores requiring targeted support, then build practical action plans with store leaders.
Operational Excellence and Execution
Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, merchandising standards, planograms, promotional readiness, inventory routines, task completion, health and safety expectations, asset protection routines, and privacy requirements across the Anchor Store and assigned market.
Talent Development, Coaching, and Succession
Coach General Managers, Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and high-potential leaders within the assigned market through regular one-on-ones, store visits, observation, feedback, recognition, and action planning.
Partner with store leaders to identify talent gaps, succession opportunities, development plans, bench strength, and readiness for future roles.
Financial Management and Performance Analysis
Monitor and analyze sales, margin, contribution, labour, customer experience, services performance, and operational dashboards for the Anchor Store and assigned market.
Review P&L results, sales dashboards, labour dashboards, customer satisfaction reports, conversion reports, training reports, and other business metrics to identify gaps and opportunities.
