Role summary

Studs is seeking a Piercer in New York, NY, reporting to the Studio Manager. This role involves executing piercing services, acting as a brand ambassador, and managing the client experience. Responsibilities include meeting revenue targets, delivering high-quality piercings, maintaining studio operations, and ensuring client safety and satisfaction. The position requires 1 year of needle piercing experience, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to stand for long shifts and handle chemicals safely. Compensation includes an hourly rate plus tips.

Based in New York, NY, the Piercer will report to the Studio Manager and will execute piercing services within the Studio. You will be the ultimate ambassador of the brand by building and driving every aspect of the client’s experience in our Studio.

Hourly Rate:

After passing the trial period, Piercers make $33.65/hour, plus tips

During the trial period, Associate Piercers make $24/hour, plus tips

Delivers a smooth piercing at a perpendicular angle with a gentle transition and has the ability to expertly troubleshoot in the procedure

Serves as a brand ambassador: educates clients on the unique Studs’ experience in the Piercing Room and Earbar™ through our selling cycle

Delivers confident, clear, and professional communication with clients during their entire Studs’ experience

Identifies and escalates client feedback to improve the overall client experience

Be well versed in piercing operating procedures and regulations to ensure client experience and work safety standards are met

Shows consistent and detailed record keeping including all maintenance, sterilized inventory and tools

Requirements:

1 year experience with needle piercing, experience working with both internally threaded and push-pin jewelry

Must be available to work a flexible schedule of varying days and hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must have at least 4 days of availability, inclusive of Saturday and Sunday. Excluding approved unscheduled time away.

Must be able to stand for 8+ hour shifts

Must pierce a minimum 18 appointments a day

Must be able to visually inspect ear anatomy to execute advanced piercings

Must be able to deliver piercings with a steady hand

Must be able to lift 20 lbs

Must be able to handle chemicals safely
