About The Role
Aquila Technology is seeking a skilled Remote DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting one of the nation's premier defense research organizations. This role involves supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise collaboration platforms and advanced Generative AI systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing secure AI infrastructure, enabling staff to leverage large language models for chat, document analysis, prompt engineering, and knowledge management. The role requires troubleshooting across pipelines, applications, and infrastructure layers, ensuring operational stability and security compliance. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams using agile methodologies, contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, and implement best practices in cloud computing, containerization, and security to support mission-critical projects.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in deploying and maintaining application infrastructure, with a focus on Generative AI technologies
  • Hands-on Linux administration experience, particularly with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP (minimum 3 years)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes
  • Extensive experience with version control systems, especially Git
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies, including Jira, Scrum, and Kanban
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment
  • Must be able to obtain an Interim/Active Secret Clearance and be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise collaboration platforms and Generative AI systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across pipelines, applications, and infrastructure layers to ensure system stability and security
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Ansible
  • Implement and maintain containerization and orchestration solutions with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based infrastructures
  • Monitor system performance and conduct troubleshooting using observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk
  • Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Ensure compliance with security and security best practices, including DevSecOps principles
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives
