About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with extensive expertise in virtualization and on-premise infrastructure management. This full-time, hybrid role combines modern DevOps methodologies with traditional Linux systems engineering to support and scale our on-prem environments remotely. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure systems. Your role will involve automating workflows, managing virtualization platforms such as Proxmox or other enterprise hypervisors, and collaborating closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex technical challenges, influence infrastructure strategy, and ensure the stability and security of critical systems. Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Linux Systems Engineering roles
- Strong background in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar)
- Deep hands-on experience with Proxmox or other enterprise virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, KVM, Xen)
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar
- Experience with container technologies like Docker or Podman
- Knowledge of CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Drone
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Ruby
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and best practices in on-prem environments
- Experience managing physical infrastructure remotely (e.g., IPMI, iDRAC, iLO)
- Experience managing on-prem Kubernetes clusters or hybrid deployments
- Familiarity with automated OS provisioning tools such as PXE boot, Kickstart, or Cobbler
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems like Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar
- Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL from a systems perspective
- Understanding of backup, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies for virtualized infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage on-premise infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications
- Perform capacity planning and scalability assessments to ensure infrastructure growth aligns with business needs
- Collaborate with software development teams to implement best practices for deployment and infrastructure management
- Coordinate with IT and Network teams to ensure proper infrastructure setup, connectivity, and system integration
- Design and implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for on-prem applications
- Ensure seamless integration between development, QA, and production environments
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize reliability and efficiency
- Research, evaluate, and integrate new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management processes
- Manage virtualization platforms, including deployment, scaling, and maintenance of virtual machines and containers
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions for virtualized environments
- Maintain security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and vulnerability assessments
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies for team knowledge sharing
