About The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team remotely, supporting our operations at Patuxent River, MD. This role requires a highly experienced individual with a strong background in developer support for containerized applications and CI/CD pipeline development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving DevOps pipelines, primarily utilizing GitLab and other third-party tools. You will play a critical role in identifying process improvements, troubleshooting pipeline issues, and educating customers on pipeline functionalities. The position involves collaborating with diverse organizational levels, from technical teams to leadership, providing technical guidance, training, and presentations. Qualifications
- Proven experience with CI/CD implementation and DevOps pipeline development
- Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD configurations and pipeline management
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as OpenShift or Amazon ECS is a plus
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for pipeline processes
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of onboarding)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, technical environment
- Active TS/SSBI clearance preferred, or active Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade
- Educational background: BS/BA degree with 10+ years of related experience, or AA/AS degree with 14+ years, or high school diploma with 16+ years of experience
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance DevOps functionality for CI/CD pipelines, focusing on GitLab configurations
- Interpret and apply cybersecurity guidelines to identify and resolve code vulnerabilities
- Proactively research, pilot, and recommend solutions to optimize CI/CD processes and pipelines
- Assist with GitLab upgrades, providing support and troubleshooting during implementation
- Configure customer projects, including setting up repositories, access controls, and credentials
- Onboard new applications and clients to the CI/CD environment, providing technical training and guidance
- Collaborate with application developers to craft and troubleshoot gitlab-ci.yaml files and orchestrate pipelines
- Research and architect new CI/CD environments, including cloud migrations and supporting classified systems
- Deliver demos, briefings, and newsletters to customers and leadership regarding pipeline tools and processes
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and best practices
- Mentor junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skills development
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project and organizational goals
