Role summary

TactWare is seeking a mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer to support the development of mission-critical Counter-UAS (C-UAS) applications for the AirShield program. The role involves contributing to both Android client functionality and backend components within an Agile/Scrum environment. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, participating in sprint ceremonies, providing technical input, and documenting work. The position requires U.S. Citizenship, an active Secret Clearance, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and 3-6 years of software development experience with proficiency in languages like Kotlin, Java, or C#, along with modern software engineering practices.

This job requires an active security clearance which can only be obtained with US Citizenship. Permanent residents/green card holders are NOT eligible.

TactWare is seeking a mid-level Full Stack Software Engineer
to support development of mission-critical software for Counter-UAS (C-UAS) applications. You will work as part of an integrated government-contractor team supporting the AirShield program, delivering situational awareness and command-and-control capabilities to users operating in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a full stack developer, supporting Android client functionality and associated backend components as required
  • Collaborate directly with other engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in:
  • Sprint planning
  • Daily standups
  • Sprint reviews and demos
  • Provide clear technical input during demos, reviews, and internal discussions
  • Document work and contribute to weekly status summaries and planning forecasts

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (REQUIRED)
  • - Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • Permanent residents and green card holders are not eligible
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, C#, or another modern object-oriented language
  • Familiarity with modern software engineering practices (e.g., version control, automated testing, CI/CD, Agile methodologies)
  • Ability to understand requirements and follow architectural guidance to produce efficient, maintainable, and testable software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting DoD programs
  • Familiarity with C-UAS, ISR, or situational awareness systems
  • Exposure to human-machine teaming or tactical command-and-control systems
