Role summary

Seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician to serve as a System Medical Director. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple emergency medicine and hospital medicine programs. Responsibilities include partnering with facility medical directors and hospital leadership to drive physician engagement, patient safety, quality improvement, staffing excellence, and client satisfaction. Key duties involve physician leadership development, performance management, recruitment and retention oversight, operational planning, and implementing patient safety initiatives. This is primarily a leadership position with the opportunity for modest clinical shifts.

Description

We are seeking a board-certified emergency medicine physician to serve as a system medical director, providing strategic and operational leadership across multiple emergency medicine and hospital medicine programs.

In this role, you will partner with facility medical directors, hospital leadership, recruiters, and operational teams to drive physician engagement, patient safety, quality improvement, staffing excellence, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include physician leadership development, performance management, recruitment and retention oversight, operational planning, and implementation of patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

MD/DO with board certification in EM
Proven physician leadership experience
Strong operational, quality, and team-building skills
Experience working with hospital administration and multidisciplinary teams

This is primarily a leadership position with the opportunity to work modest clinical shifts under a separate clinical agreement.
