Role summary
Thatch is seeking a Partner Engineer to ensure the reliability and success of their payroll and HRIS integrations. This high-impact, remote role involves working directly with customers, integration partners, and internal teams to solve complex technical challenges, validate new integrations, and maintain critical connections. Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, leading technical validation, acting as a technical expert, driving issues to resolution, and developing scalable processes like runbooks and monitoring practices to improve reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, strong API understanding, and experience owning complex technical problems. Experience with payroll, HRIS, or benefits platforms, and third-party integration platforms like Finch or Merge is a plus.
About Thatch
For most people, health insurance is something that happens to them: a plan chosen by someone else, with little room to fit their life. Thatch is changing that. We help companies give every employee a real healthcare budget instead of a one-size-fits-all plan, so people can choose the coverage and care that works for them, and employers get predictable costs they can control.
It’s a simple idea, but making it real means solving hard problems across healthcare, payments, and technology, and we’re just getting started. We look for people who like solving complex problems, use good judgment, and are comfortable working through ambiguity. People here care deeply about our customers, take real responsibility for what gets built, and are driven by doing work that matters.
About the role
Thatch is reimagining how health benefits work. We help employers give their employees a healthcare budget to choose the coverage that works best for them, while making benefits easier to manage and costs more predictable for businesses.
We're looking for a Partner Engineer to own the reliability and success of our payroll and HRIS integrations as we scale. You'll work directly with customers, integration partners, and internal teams to solve complex technical challenges, validate new integrations, and keep critical connections running reliably.
This is a high-impact role with real ownership from day one. You'll play a key part in delivering a seamless experience for our customers while helping our engineering team stay focused on building what's next.
