Role summary
The Boring Company is seeking a Manufacturing Integration Engineer to manage mechanical subsystem builds from design through integration. This hands-on role involves liaising between design and production teams, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, developing processes, managing schedules and procurement, and supporting prototype testing. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, 1+ years of experience, proficiency in CAD, and hands-on fabrication/assembly experience. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential for collaborating across teams in a fast-paced R&D environment.
The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a Manufacturing Integration Engineer at The Boring Company, you will take ownership of mechanical subsystem builds, serving as the primary link between our Mechanical Design Engineering and R&D Production teams. You will be responsible for managing assemblies from initial design through procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration, coordinating resources, schedules, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced R&D manufacturing environment, where you will work directly with engineers and technicians to solve complex technical challenges and accelerate the development of our Tunnel Boring Machines.
