Role summary

A Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer is needed to support an Intelligence customer, working within an Agile Scrum team to maintain and develop a Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability across multiple security domains. The role involves operating and maintaining Red Hat OpenShift environments in both cloud and datacenter settings, deploying OpenShift to new sites, and supporting various data services. The engineer will collaborate with internal and external teams to meet integration requirements, ensure security compliance, and develop secure solutions. A Bachelor's degree, US Citizenship, an active TS/SCI clearance, and 5+ years of developer experience are required, along with specific DoD 8570 IAT Level II certifications.

What Impact You'll Have

Work on a development team, utilizing Agile scrum methodology, which is responsible for developing and maintain agency wide Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability deployed across multiple security domains. The PaaS environment supports multiple tenants deploying a myriad of application stacks and data services. Our work depends on TS/SCI level cleared Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer joining our team to support our Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St Louis, MO.

What You'll be Owning

  • O&M of existing Red Hat OpenShift environment across multiple security domains in both Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments
  • Support OpenShift operators and frameworks including Crossplane, Kyverno, RedHat GitOps
  • Deploy OpenShift to new sites as they come online
  • Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements and scale existing platforms to meet them
  • Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions
  • Support data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack
  • Compile detailed documentation

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
  • 5+ years of Developer experience
  • Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA

What Would be Nice to Have

  • Experience deploying and managing RedHat Open Shift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Python, Shell scripting, Git
  • Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS
  • CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins
  • Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general
