Sign up to see compensation estimateVision Talent's client is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for an initial 6 month contract term. They would prefer to work with contractors who are willing to convert to permanent after the initial contract term.
This is a fully remote role that can be conducted from anywhere in the US.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating and deploying services on a variety of cloud and infrastructure platforms. Working with various teams, the successful incumbent will ensure that infrastructure needs are fulfilled for various teams and departments.
Primary Duties:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deliver complex and highly available cloud and platform solutions for internal and external projects.
- Provide recommendations and expertise as it relates to cloud and platform provisioning.
- Participate in cloud and infrastructure deployments and delivery by providing subject matter expertise on infrastructure related components.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure code for various solutions.
- Maintain documentation, forms and processes to support business needs.
- Participate in sprint, project and department planning for technology implementations and transformations.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide application and infrastructure support, incident management and troubleshooting, as required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in information technology, DevOps, infrastructure maintenance, cloud development, platform engineering and/or automation development.
- 3+ years supporting and developing templates and code for Kubernetes services (HELM, Kustomize and Kubernetes).
- Solid experience supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure, troubleshooting support escalations, and ensuring key KPIs.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge on a multitude of Cloud services with hands-on experience building critical infrastructure from scratch.
- Proven experience with building, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting Kubernetes and serverless infrastructure. Must be able to build net new clusters and have experience with migrating applications.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages including Powershell, Python and Bash.
- Proven experience translating architecture and technical requirements to net new cloud infrastructure.
- Intermediate certifications in Cloud required, including associate level certifications in AWS, Azure and GCP. Professional level certifications preferred.
- Kubernetes related certifications including but not limited to CKA, CKD and CKS.
- Broad experience with a myriad of infrastructure core technologies including security, networking, database, data streaming, deployment automation and tooling, monitoring, logging, alerting and observability.
- Excellent communications and collaboration skills with the ability to work with and support clients.
