A Day in the Life: Freight Brokerage Sales Executive

You’ve spent years building a book in third-party logistics (3PL). You know how to find the freight, win the shipper, and turn a first load into a lasting account. Now you want a platform that lets you move fast. That’s us.

Trinity Logistics is hiring a Sales Executive for our Houston office. This is a true hunter role. You’ll go after new business from day one, open doors with shippers across Houston and beyond, and grow accounts into long-term partnerships. You won’t do it alone. You’ll have the backing of an experienced Team, a nationwide carrier network, and a full suite of services to sell: truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), open deck, heavy haul, intermodal, drayage, expedited, warehousing, international, managed transportation, and logistics technology solutions.

What You’ll Do

Prospect and close new shipper accounts through cold calls, referrals, LinkedIn, and face-to-face meetings

Build and work a strong pipeline with clear, measurable activity and revenue goals

Uncover each shipper’s pain points and build freight solutions that fix them

Negotiate rates and terms that win the business and protect margin

Grow new accounts by cross-selling Trinity’s full service mix

Partner with Operations and Carrier Sales Teams to deliver a great first load and every load after

Track activity and opportunities in our CRM

Represent Trinity at customer visits, trade shows, and industry events in the Houston market

Details of the Job: Is This for You?

Five-plus years of 3PL or freight brokerage sales experience, with a proven record of meeting or beating quota

A track record of opening new accounts, not just managing existing ones

Strong understanding of truckload and LTL pricing, plus working knowledge of other modes

Open deck and heavy haul sales experience preferred

Must live in or near Houston, TX, and work on-site at our Houston office

Willing to travel locally and regionally for customer meetings and events

Strong negotiation, presentation, and business writing skills

Comfortable reading and using business data to spot opportunities and guide decisions

Some after-hours or weekend work as customer needs and seasonality require

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; CRM experience strongly preferred

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required – your results speak loudest
