Triumvirate Environmental is seeking an Environmental Technician in Clayton, NC, to manage hazardous waste programs for clients in sectors like higher education, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing. This role involves operating a forklift, managing waste pick-ups, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position requires a High School Diploma, 1+ years of customer service experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 60 pounds. Prior industry experience and HAZWOPER certification are preferred. The role is safety-sensitive and involves handling hazardous materials.

Environmental Technician

This is a 12-hour shift 7am-7pm, on a 2-week rotating schedule. One week will be Saturday-Monday and Thursday-Friday, and the next week will be Tuesday-Wednesday

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Technician for our Clayton, NC team.

This highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer service-focused individual will be responsible for working on site for the client by helping them manage their hazardous waste programs.

This position reports to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

Operate forklift to move supplies as necessary

Load and organize recyclable material onto trailers

Communicate and schedule non-hazardous waste pick-ups

Oversee on-site confidential document shredding

Escort subcontractors & drivers to work locations

Conduct eyewash & safety shower inspections

Trash cleanup and removal

Drain rainwater from containment pit

Conduct forklift inspections

Provide clients with high-quality and professional customer service

Positive attitude and good communication skills

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to work flexible shift hours; typically, 7am to 4pm or 10am to 7pm Saturday through Wednesday.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field.

1+ years of customer service experience.

Self-motivated person with the desire to learn.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship

Must have a reliable form of transportation

Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)

Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment

Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis

Ability to work overtime on when needed

The Environmental Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.

Preferred Requirements:

Prior relevant industry experience

Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
