Role summary

Trove Brands is seeking a GL Staff Accountant to maintain general ledger accounts, support treasury activities, manage fixed assets and prepaid expenses, and prepare payroll accounting. This role is crucial for month-end close, requiring the completion of assigned procedures, schedules, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate accounting records, support audit requests, and contribute to process improvements. Qualifications include 1-2 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in accounting, intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, power query), and working knowledge of GAAP. Experience with ERP systems and SQL is preferred. This is a fully in-office position.

Every role at Trove Brands is critical to our successful functioning. Your specific responsibilities as a part of Team Trove will include:

  • Maintain assigned general ledger accounts by preparing journal entries and reconciliations, researching discrepancies, and resolving open items.
  • Support treasury activities through bank reconciliations, payment preparation, and review of cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Manage fixed asset and prepaid expense accounting, including schedules, depreciation or amortization, and related reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll accounting and related headcount, wage, and expense reporting.
  • Serve as a key contributor to month-end close by completing assigned procedures, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting entries.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and payment information, support audit requests, and help improve accounting processes and control

    • Qualifications

    We seek team members who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • 1–2 years of general accounting, finance, or related business experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (including use of formulas/functions (VLOOKUP, IF, etc.), pivot tables, power query, and ability to sort and analyze data sets to identify errors)
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferred
  • SQL knowledge, preferred
  • Confident working with internal and external customers
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
