Role summary
TrueBridge, a venture capital firm in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks rising seniors for its 10-week Summer Analyst Program. This selective internship offers a unique view of the venture ecosystem, real responsibility, and exposure to top investors and companies. Summer Analysts will contribute to investment decisions by performing analysis, building financial models, monitoring portfolios, and conducting market research, including work on the Forbes Midas List. The ideal candidate has a strong academic record (3.5+ GPA), demonstrated interest in VC/tech, strong financial and analytical skills (Excel proficiency required), excellent communication, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- A view across the entire venture ecosystem. Because TrueBridge partners with many of the leading venture and seed managers and also invests directly in companies, Summer Analysts see a cross-section of the venture market that few internships can offer.
- Real responsibility from day one. On a small, collaborative team, Summer Analysts own meaningful workstreams, sit in on investment team meetings, and see how investment decisions are made.
- Access to top investors and companies. Summer Analysts meet with top-tier venture firms and founders and gain exposure to our work with Forbes on the Midas List and Next Billion-Dollar Startups.
- Mentorship and training. Each Summer Analyst is paired with a mentor on the investment team and completes a structured training curriculum on venture capital fundamentals.
- Evaluate prospective fund, direct, and secondary investments through manager, company, and performance analysis and modeling
- Build financial models and benchmarking analyses used to assess returns, risk and portfolio construction
- Help prepare investment memos and one-page summaries that communicate recommendations to the investment committee
- Track the performance of existing fund and direct investments and support portfolio monitoring analysis
- Build and maintain TrueBridge's proprietary data on transactions, valuations and the venture market
- Research companies, managers, sectors and new technology themes (e.g. AI Infra, App, Deep Tech) and share what you find with the investment team
- Use AI-native tools to speed up research and analysis
- Take on projects across the investment team, including work on the Forbes Midas List and Next Billion-Dollar Startups
- A strong academic record (minimum GPA of 3.5) as a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated interest in venture capital and technology through internships, coursework, or extracurriculars in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or investment management
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and AI-native tools; prior financial modeling experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A self-starter attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for technology and investing
- U.S. work authorization and current residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area for the summer
