Role summary
Seeking a Robotics Technician experienced in bringing up and testing robots fresh off the assembly line. Responsibilities include powering up, troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting electromechanical systems, specifically autonomous palletizers. The role requires hands-on experience with machine commissioning, reading electrical schematics, using multimeters, and a methodical approach to problem-solving. Experience with CAN bus, Linux, and wiring certifications are a plus. This is an onsite role focused on ensuring robots are fully tested and ready for customer deployment.
About Tutor
Tutor Intelligence builds and ships autonomous robots out of our factory in Watertown, MA. Our robots move boxes and pallets for businesses from family-owned manufacturers to some of the largest brands in the world. Every robot you release goes to work in a real warehouse.
Is This You?
This is a full-time, hourly ($38–$50/hr), on-site technician role on our production floor. You'll spend your day with a meter, hand tools and robots, not at a desk. If your background is mainly software, simulation or academic research, this isn't the right fit.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. We are not able to sponsor visas for this role.
The Role
You'll take a robot fresh off the assembly line, power it up, bring every system to life, and own it until it's tested, documented and ready to ship. When it doesn't work, and some won't, you'll find out why with a meter and a schematic, fix it, and make sure it stays fixed.
This isn't a pass/fail checklist job. If you've commissioned, repaired or brought up complete machines (robots, packaging lines, AGVs, CNC or similar), this is your kind of work.
The robot is an autonomous palletizer: a collaborative robot arm on a battery-powered mobile base, with vacuum tooling, sensors and safety circuits. Every one you release goes to a real warehouse. You're the last set of hands before the customer.
