The ideal candidate has 5-7+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, analytics, or optimization, with hands-on experience in Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, SEO tools, and CMS platforms. Description

For more than 60 years, Tyndale has helped readers discover the life-giving truths of God’s Word. Today we’re one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. Though our business has grown, our mission remains the same: to open God’s Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand.

As our eCommerce Optimization Specialist, you’ll help more people find Bibles and books that point them to Christ by making Tyndale’s direct-to-consumer websites easier to find, easier to shop, and easier to measure.

You’ll work alongside a small, hands-on eCommerce team and partner closely with technical teams and outside vendors. It’s work that rewards problem-solvers, and you’ll see the results of your contributions as updates and improvements are implemented on our websites.

We know this role spans a few specialties, and we don’t require applicants to have them all. If you have strong experience in a few of these areas, especially web analytics or SEO, and you’re eager to grow in the rest, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Build analytics we can trust: Partner with technical teams to implement data layers and tagging for Google Tag Manager and GA4, then build dashboards that turn site data into clear recommendations.
  • Grow organic discovery: Optimize technical and content SEO, including AEO for AI search, using tools like SEMrush to track performance and find opportunities.
  • Improve the shopping experience: Drive website improvements based on ecommerce best practices and analyzing customer behavior, conversion funnels and friction points throughout customer website experience.
  • Help customers find the right product: Optimize navigation, collections, filters, and Algolia-powered search and recommendations, and keep product information accurate.
  • Own content operations in Sanity CMS: Maintain content models, publishing workflows, and standards, and train teammates on best practices.
  • Keep the sites running well: Support QA for releases, write clear requirements, and serve as business coordinator on eCommerce projects with internal and external technical teams.

Skills and Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital, eCommerce, Business, or a related field
  • 5-7+ years of progressively responsible experience in ecommerce merchandising, analytics, and/or optimization
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console, and/or SEO tools such as SEMrush, BrightEdge, or Ahrefs
  • Experience with a CMS such as Sanity or WordPress and ecommerce tools for site search, recommendations, or A/B testing; Shopify experience is a plus
  • Track record of leading projects and improving website processes and functionality, using ticketing systems like Jira and project tools like Asana or Monday.com
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership as priorities shift
  • A strategic thinker who moves easily between big-picture goals and hands-on execution, with professionalism, humility, and a team-first spirit
  • Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith

After an initial training period, this role is open to a hybrid work schedule, which means you'll be given the flexibility to split time between working from home and in the office.
