Role summary
The Registered Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville, AL, is a full-time, M-F days position. This role involves managing emergency services activities, workflow, and nursing resources. Key responsibilities include ensuring departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, assisting with staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation, resolving patient care issues, and developing/implementing policies and procedures. The manager will also monitor and adhere to budget guidelines. Requires a currently licensed RN with 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience. BLS Provider certification is also required.

What You Will Do
Manage emergency services activities, workflow and nursing resources.
- Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Assist with hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of nursing staff.
- Identiy and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
- Monitor and adhere to budget(s). Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Required professional licensure/certification and diploma from an accredited school/college of Nursing. 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
