As a Senior Accountant on the Corporate Accounting team, reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will be instrumental in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and corporate accounting initiatives for UFT and its expanding family of water and wastewater companies. United Flow Technologies is a platform established in July 2021 to invest in the municipal and industrial water and wastewater market. UFT has partnered with market leading businesses to create a national provider of process, pump, automation & control, and other equipment solutions. And we’re just getting started making strategic partnerships to provide clean water across the country!

As a Senior Accountant on our Corporate Accounting team, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, you will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and corporate accounting initiatives across a rapidly expanding, multi-entity platform. You will work closely with the corporate accounting team and partner directly with regional accounting teams across our divisions, as well as cross-functional partners in finance, operations, and shared services, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for UFT and its growing family of water and wastewater companies.

Given the pace and scale of our growth, this role offers exposure to a breadth of accounting work you won't find in a typical Senior Accountant seat - consolidation across dozens of legal entities, hands-on exposure to acquisition due diligence and integration, treasury and cash management, and the opportunity to help modernize how we close the books, implement AI and automation tools as we build out our accounting infrastructure. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven accounting professional who wants to build a career at the center of an active, acquisitive platform and take on increasing ownership as the company scales.

What you'll do:

Core Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Manage components of the monthly financial close process including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements across a multi-entity platform
  • Participate in UFT's Consolidated Monthly Close Process, helping ensure accuracy and consistency of financial information across all entities
  • Maintain books and records consistent with UFT policy for both GAAP and management accounting
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders including banking partners, equity partners, and management
  • Collaborate with the financial analysis and reporting team to ensure completeness and accuracy of reports delivered to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide UFT leadership with insight on key drivers of financial performance
  • Acquisitions & Treasury

  • Get hands-on exposure to acquisition integration as UFT onboards new entities - opening balance sheet review, systems and process alignment, and getting acquired companies onto UFT's close calendar
  • Support treasury operations including cash positioning, bank account administration, and ACH/wire processes across a multi-entity banking structure
  • Assist with post-acquisition banking transitions and vendor onboarding as the platform integrates newly acquired companies
  • Process Improvement & AI/Automation

  • Partner with the accounting team to identify opportunities to use AI and automation tools to streamline close, reconciliations, and reporting workflows
  • Help build scalable, repeatable processes as UFT grows - this is a seat where good ideas get implemented, not shelved
  • Audit & Compliance

  • Support the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Assist in maintaining and documenting internal control processes consistent with SOX-like standards
  • Cash Flow & AP Support

  • Prepare company-level cash flow statements monthly
  • Provide accounting support for company-level Accounts Payable processing and vendor reconciliations
  • Support ad hoc projects and cross-departmental initiatives as needed
  • What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including multi-entity or consolidation environments
  • Public accounting and/or private industry experience in manufacturing, distribution, or services industries is a plus
  • Curiosity about how AI and automation can improve accounting processes is a plus . You don't need to be an expert, just interested in building better ways of working
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and management accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP, reporting, and consolidation systems
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple workstreams with a high sense of urgency
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Join our team to innovate the future of water and wastewater. You’ll collaborate with coworkers who are the best and the brightest, challenge yourself on exciting work, and help build the best water and wastewater platform company in the U.S. UFT is an Equal Opportunity Employer - race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.
