Role summary

Upchurch, a growing building engineering company, seeks a Project Sales Representative to drive service-project revenue. This role involves developing scopes and quotes for repairs, replacements, and upgrades, managing customer relationships, and setting pricing strategies. Responsibilities include conducting site assessments, creating proposals, closing deals, and coordinating project handoffs. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in HVAC/plumbing/electrical service sales or project management, with knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and strong customer communication skills. Experience selling to owner-direct customers is preferred.

Position Summary

Drives service-project revenue by developing scopes/quotes for repairs, replacements, retrofits, and small design-build upgrades. Owns customer relationships, pricing strategy, and handoff to field PMs/Foremen.

Key Responsibilities

Build and manage a territory of facility managers, property managers, and owner-direct accounts.
Conduct site assessments; develop scopes for equipment change-outs, pipe/fabrication, controls, energy upgrades, and code/safety corrections.
Create proposals with labor, materials, rentals, and subcontractor quotes; manage margin/GM targets.
Present options (good/better/best) and close work; secure POs and schedule with Dispatch/Operations.
Coordinate pre-job submittals, permits, and material releases; attend kickoff meetings.
Track backlog, hit rate, bookings, and forecast weekly, update CRM promptly.
Ensure a clean handoff to field PM/Foreman and stay engaged through punch/closeout for references.

Qualifications

3+ years in HVAC/plumbing/electrical service sales or project management.
Ability to build scopes and price work accurately with estimating support.
Knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, code basics, safety, and site logistics.
Strong customer communication and time management; CRM discipline.
Valid driver’s license; regional travel.
Experience selling to owner-direct customers and converting service findings/PMs into projects (Preferred).
