Urschel is seeking a dedicated and service-focused Host for the Grand Gardner Hotel in Downtown Valparaiso, IN. This role is the first point of contact for guests, managing reservations, welcoming visitors, and coordinating seating to create a memorable experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, maintaining warmth and professionalism. Requires exceptional organizational skills, professional appearance, ability to use reservation software and multi-line phone systems, and physical stamina for standing up to 8 hours and moving quickly. Prior host or guest relations experience is preferred. Pay starts at $14.68/hour.
Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a dedicated and service-focused hospitality leader to join the team of the Grand Gardner Hotel as Host. The Grand Gardner Hotel is an Urschel Development property located in Downtown Valparaiso, IN. Urschel Development is a fully owned subsidiary of Urschel Laboratories located in Chesterton, Indiana.
The Grand Gardner Hotel features 58 rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant, a speakeasy, banquet space, and inviting gathering areas. As part of an employee-owned organization, our team takes pride in providing outstanding hospitality, supporting one another, and creating memorable experiences for every guest who visits.
Pay starts at $14.68/hour

Exceptional organizational skills and professional appearance are required, along with the ability to navigate reservation software and multi-line phone systems. The candidate must have the physical stamina to remain standing for up to 8 hours and the ability to move through the property quickly to escort guests. A warm, welcoming personality and a commitment to the highest standards of boutique service are essential. Prior experience in a host or guest relations role is preferred.
