The Department of Public Health Sciences at UVA seeks a Research Specialist Intermediate to support program evaluation and implementation science research. This role involves coordinating data collection (REDCap surveys, qualitative interviews), supporting IRB submissions, conducting literature searches, and assisting with research plans and protocols. Responsibilities include participant recruitment and retention, qualitative data analysis using software like ATLAS.ti, quantitative data management, and project timeline monitoring. The position also involves preparing reports and manuscripts, and potentially guiding research assistants. A Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience are required, with a Master's degree considered in lieu of experience.

The Department of Public Health Sciences in the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a motivated public health professional to support a growing portfolio of program evaluation and implementation science research. The position is affiliated with the Department's Health Evaluation & Outcomes Science and Health Intervention & Implementation Science programs, which partner with health systems, community organizations, and state and federal agencies to evaluate the real-world implementation and impact of health programs and policies.

The research specialist will work across a developing evaluation portfolio that spans both quantitative and qualitative methods. This work typically combines analysis of health data with primary data collection via REDCap-based surveys and assessments, and qualitative data collection and analysis with patients, clinicians, and community stakeholders. Current and anticipated projects evaluate community- and clinic-based health interventions, including nutrition, chronic disease management, and care coordination programs, often in partnership with rural and underserved communities across Virginia.
