Role summary
Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and engineer medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems for their nuclear reactor and fuel manufacturing facilities. This role involves full electrical discipline scope from power system studies to equipment specification, protection design, installation, and commissioning support. The engineer will own electrical scope end-to-end, provide technical direction to contractors and junior engineers, and ensure power system integrity for production reliability and nuclear safety. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in MV/LV distribution system design, with proficiency in power system analysis software and relevant electrical standards.
About Valar Atomics
At Valar Atomics, we're redefining what's possible in energy. Our mission is to make clean, high-temperature nuclear power scalable—unlocking abundant energy for industry, hydrogen, and next-generation manufacturing. We are a team of builders, engineers, and operators who believe nuclear energy should be fast to deploy, factory-made, and built for the real world. Our first pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah will demonstrate how advanced nuclear systems and fuel fabrication can power the future. Joining Valar Atomics means becoming part of a company where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level.
The Team
You will be joining Valar Atomics' Electrical Engineering team within the Instrumentation, Control & Electrical (IC&E) organization. The team delivers the electrical infrastructure that powers Valar's facilities from utility interconnection through MV distribution, process area LV systems, and emergency power across the reactor program and fuel manufacturing operations. You will work alongside I&C, mechanical, process, and nuclear safety engineers in a hands-on environment where power system integrity directly supports production reliability and nuclear safety, with the opportunity to work on some of the most technically interesting power distribution challenges in the advanced nuclear sector. The team values technical depth, disciplined documentation, speed, and a safety-first culture.
The Role
Valar Atomics is seeking Senior Electrical Engineers to design and engineer the medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems for our reactor and nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. The role spans the full electrical discipline scope from power system studies through equipment specification, protection design, installation, and commissioning support covering capital project execution and ongoing plant operations. This is a senior position: you will own an electrical scope end-to-end, from studies and specifications through energization, and provide technical direction to contractors, vendors, and junior engineers.
