Role summary

Oath Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in providing high-quality animal care. Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries, handling animals, preparing rooms, performing basic lab tests, administering medications, feeding, bathing, exercising animals, maintaining medical records, communicating with pet owners, and ensuring clinic cleanliness and sanitation. The role requires physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately. Previous veterinary experience is preferred.

Veterinary Assistant

Oath Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us.     • Salary: $18 - $24 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. Join our team and take advantage of a competitive sign-on bonus as a thank-you for bringing your skills and expertise to our hospital.

    Schedule: This is a full time position. Scheduled shifts include Monday and Friday from 7:45 AM–6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM–3:00 PM.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
  • Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples
  • Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian
  • Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
  • Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment

    • Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting is preferred.
  • Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
  • Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
