Role summary
Waymo's Hardware Engineering team is seeking a Senior Vehicle Interior Engineer to develop and guide vehicle interiors for future autonomous driving projects. This hybrid role involves creating 3D CAD layouts, recommending materials to balance cost and premium strategies, and working with internal teams and global suppliers. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in product development or engineering teams at vehicle manufacturers or tier-one suppliers, with in-depth knowledge of tooling strategies, production launches, supplier interactions, DFM, and competitor benchmarking. Experience with vehicle assembly strategies and interior trim commodities is essential.

Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
