Zeta is seeking an Elementary School Science Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year, starting July 2027, to work full-time onsite in the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, or Queens. The role involves planning and delivering inquiry-based science lessons, fostering a joyful classroom culture, and driving student achievement through data-driven approaches and strong relationships with students and families. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred) and at least one year of lead classroom teaching experience with a demonstrated record of strong student outcomes. A New York State teaching certification is preferred. Compensation is determined according to Zeta’s applicable salary scale, which factors in relevant experience and internal equity.

Who you are

We are searching for an Elementary School Science Teacher who is excited to drive exceptional academic outcomes while building a joyful classroom where students are challenged to think critically, explore the world around them, and reach their highest potential.

You bring:

A Bachelor’s degree (STEM field preferred)

At least 1 year of lead classroom teaching experience, with a demonstrated record of driving strong student outcomes

Strong instructional skills and content knowledge in science, with the ability to make rigorous scientific concepts engaging and accessible to students

A commitment to maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations while building a joyful, engaging classroom community

A growth mindset and strong sense of ownership, with the ability to respond to feedback and do what it takes to help every student succeed

Preferred but not required: A valid New York State teaching certification or license

What you’ll be doing

In the Elementary School Science Teacher role, you will:

Plan inquiry-based, academically rigorous science lessons that create a sense of wonderment and exploration for all students.

Build a classroom culture that fosters students’ genuine love for learning and creates a sense of community for our families.

Internalize and deeply understand Zeta’s science content and social-emotional curriculum.

Use data-driven approaches and teaching resources to drive student achievement.

Develop authentic, meaningful relationships with students and families to support students’ personal and academic growth.

Collaborate with colleagues and participate in weekly professional development opportunities with leaders and colleagues to benefit from feedback that will help you grow as an educator.
