Role summary
OAK Long Bar + Kitchen is seeking a Server Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting the service staff by setting up tables, preparing beverages, stocking equipment, clearing tables, and performing cleaning duties. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule, a friendly and service-oriented demeanor, and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment. Physical stamina is required for standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift. Experience in a similar role and a high school diploma are preferred.
ESSENTIAL
➢ Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
➢ Maintain proper rotation of products in chillers.
➢ Must have a very flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and AM & PM shifts.
➢ Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
➢ Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
➢ Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working.
➢ Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
➢ Set up all tables in the dining room for appropriate shift.
➢ Prepare iced tea, coffee, espresso, juice, hot chocolate.
➢ Stock necessary equipment, including linen, china, glasses, cutlery, and supplies to maintain proper meal period table settings.
➢ Maintain proper settings on tables during course of shift.
➢ Clear tables quickly and efficiently upon completion of courses.
➢ Complete cleaning duties utilizing corporate SOP checklist. (dusting, sweeping, wiping, polishing, etc.) MARGINAL
➢ Prepare lemon by cutting in wedges.
➢ Serve guests in waiter’s absence.
➢ Maintain beverage levels in glasses on tables. (coffee, tea, water, juice)
➢ Other duties as required.
EDUCATION
➢ High school diploma or related experience preferred.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
➢ Coffee and espresso machines
➢ Juice machine
➢ Cleaning chemicals, broom, hot plates.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
➢ Long hours sometimes may be required.
➢ Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
➢ Must be able to stand and walk throughout the entire shift.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
➢ Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
➢ Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
➢ Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
➢ Must be able to maintain a level or organization and cleanliness.
The hourly pay rate is USD $24.25
