About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Android Engineer to join our dynamic software development team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the technical design, architecture, and development of innovative mobile applications that enhance our customer experience. You will motivate, manage, and inspire a team of talented software engineers, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and technical excellence. Your expertise will be critical in delivering products that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with our strategic goals.
This position requires advanced hands-on development, technical design, and architecture skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that leverage the latest technologies, including open source tools, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containers. Your leadership will help drive the adoption of best practices within the team and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products that meet business needs.

Examples include Credit Keeper, which allows customers to view and monitor their credit scores; enabling users to view and edit their personal information directly within the mobile app; and Quick Check, which provides customers with certainty about credit card approval before they apply. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience developing native Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
  • Extensive experience with application and data design, architecture, and development.
  • Proficiency with RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, JUnit, and Jenkins.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior and intermediate developers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical design, architecture, and development of cross-platform application systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative mobile solutions.
  • Participate actively throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
  • Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions across various development tools and technologies.
  • Provide expertise on how evolving technology impacts the domain and contribute to strategic technical decisions.
  • Mentor and guide junior, intermediate, and senior mobile developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
