About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Android Engineer to join our dynamic software studio located in Toronto, Canada. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge Android applications that enhance our customers' financial journeys. You will lead by example, providing technical guidance and mentorship to our engineering team, and play a critical role in shaping the architecture and technical direction of our mobile solutions. This position requires a deep hands-on approach to development, with a focus on delivering scalable, reliable, and innovative mobile products that align with our strategic objectives.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in native Android application development using Java and Kotlin. A strong background in application and data architecture, along with experience in designing scalable and secure mobile solutions, is essential. Candidates should have practical knowledge of modern development tools and frameworks such as RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, JUnit, and Jenkins. A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Proven experience in mentoring junior team members and guiding technical and business stakeholders is highly valued.
Responsibilities

• Own the technical design, architecture, and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle to deliver innovative mobile solutions.
• Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions using a full stack of development tools and technologies.
• Contribute expertise on emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their impact on our domain and recommending strategic adoption.
• Mentor and support junior, intermediate, and senior mobile engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
