About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff iOS Engineer to join our dynamic software development team in Toronto. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers. You will play a crucial part in delivering innovative mobile products that enhance our customers' financial lives. While providing technical guidance and mentorship, you will also be actively involved in hands-on development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure iOS applications.
Our team is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create seamless user experiences. We focus on building products such as Credit Keeper, which allows customers to view and monitor their credit scores, and Quick Check, enabling pre-approval certainty for credit card applications. We operate primarily in the cloud environment, utilizing open source frameworks, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerization to accelerate our development cycle and bring new features to market swiftly. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and extensive experience in mobile application development. A bachelor's degree in any field is required. You should have at least 6 years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, with a proven track record of designing, architecting, and delivering complex mobile solutions. Experience leading and mentoring junior and intermediate developers, as well as guiding technical and business stakeholders, is essential.
Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in collaboration with senior engineers and architects to ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Participate actively in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.
  • Contribute expertise on how evolving technologies impact the domain, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Mentor and guide junior, intermediate, and senior mobile associates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and user-centric mobile applications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate best practices related to mobile development, cloud integration, and open source frameworks.
