About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff iOS Engineer to join our dynamic software development team located at 161 Bay Street, Toronto, Canada. In this leadership-oriented role, you will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers to develop innovative mobile applications that meet our strategic goals. You will actively participate in hands-on development, guiding the technical direction of our iOS products and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for mobile technology, a strong background in native iOS development using Swift and SwiftUI, and a proven track record of leading full-cycle software projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and product teams to design, develop, test, and deploy cutting-edge features that empower our customers to take control of their credit and financial wellbeing.
Our team is committed to building products that make a real difference in people's lives, such as Credit Keeper, which allows customers to view and monitor their credit scores, and Quick Check, which provides pre-approval certainty for credit card applications. We operate entirely on cloud infrastructure, embracing open-source frameworks, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerization to accelerate innovation and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Extensive experience in application design, technical architecture, and full-cycle development.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior, intermediate, and senior mobile developers.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform features, working closely with senior engineers and architects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Participate actively in the Software Development Life Cycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive improvements in software engineering practices by promoting best practices, code reviews, and continuous integration.
  • Contribute expertise on how evolving technologies impact the domain, providing innovative solutions that enhance product capabilities.
  • Mentor and guide junior, intermediate, and senior mobile engineers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and scalable mobile solutions that meet customer needs.
