Role summary

Alabaster Aesthetic Dentistry is seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Coordinator to manage patient benefits, process claims, and ensure financial success for the practice. The role involves verifying insurance, submitting and following up on claims, posting payments, and communicating with patients and insurance carriers. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, excellent customer service and communication skills, and attention to detail. Experience with dental practice management software is preferred. This is a full-time, onsite position with a consistent schedule.

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Coordinator who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping patients maximize their dental benefits while ensuring the financial success of our practice.

The ideal candidate has prior dental insurance experience and understands the importance of accurate insurance processing, outstanding customer service, and strong communication with both patients and insurance carriers.

Schedule

Monday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Thursday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Occasional Fridays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM

What You'll Do

Verify patients' dental insurance benefits and eligibility
Submit insurance claims accurately and promptly
Follow up on outstanding claims and appeals
Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts
Review treatment plans and provide patients with insurance estimates
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, benefits, and pre-authorizations
Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities
Maintain accurate patient insurance information in the practice management software
Collaborate with the front office and clinical team to ensure a seamless patient experience
Help maintain an efficient daily schedule and support administrative operations

What We're Looking For

Required: Previous dental insurance coordination experience
Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, claim processing, and benefit verification
Experience with PPO insurance plans and insurance aging reports
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Positive, dependable, and patient-focused attitude
Experience with dental practice management software is preferred
