Role summary
AlphaGov seeks a remote, project-based Public Sector Program Manager for consulting engagements. This role involves planning and executing public-sector studies and implementations, managing scope, schedule, and deliverables. The ideal candidate will have experience managing similar engagements, producing written work products, and coordinating subject-matter specialists and agency staff. Comfort as a 1099 collaborator with occasional travel is required. Preferred experience includes working with specific public sector entities and on classification, compensation, organizational, ERP, or grants projects.

We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
AlphaGov is seeking a Public Sector Program Manager for remote, project-based work on agency studies, implementations, and related consulting engagements. There is no guaranteed assignment. This is not a construction project manager role.
What you'll do:
Plan and run a defined public-sector consulting workstream from kickoff through delivery
Keep scope, schedule, agency reviewers, and work products aligned
Turn agency interviews and source documents into a draft the agency can review
Track decisions, open items, and the evidence behind each recommendation
Coordinate specialist contributors without presenting their work as your own
Contribute a staffing approach and past-performance narrative to proposals only when naming is authorized
Surface schedule or access problems early enough to change the plan

Required
- Experience managing a public-sector study, system implementation, or multi-workstream consulting engagement through delivery
- A record of written deliverables an agency actually received, not only meeting facilitation
- Comfort coordinating subject-matter specialists and agency staff
- Able to describe the agency, your role, and the outcome of at least two engagements
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel
