Role summary

Apple Tree Dental is seeking a Licensed Dental Hygienist for their new community collaborative clinic in Detroit Lakes, MN, focusing on expanding their Becker County Outreach Program. This hybrid role involves utilizing teledentistry and triage in partnership with their Hawley clinic and Twin Cities specialty consults. Responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis, periodontal therapies, oral cancer screenings, patient education, administering anesthesia, taking X-rays, and utilizing AI for diagnosis. A Minnesota dental hygiene license and CPR certification are required. Local anesthesia/N2O certification is preferred. This is a unique opportunity to help expand our Becker County Outreach Program located in Detroit Lakes, MN. This collaborative practice hygiene position will include utilizing teledentistry and triage to work in partnership with our Hawley, MN clinical team and specialty consults with our team in the Twin Cities as need. Options are available to work part-time or full-time as a hybrid with our Hawley clinic. Experienced hygienist preferred, but all welcome to apply.     • Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapies, including scaling & root planing
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal charting
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care practices
  • Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide (N2O) as certified
  • Take and develop dental X-rays & use AI for diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Train on advanced scope of dental hygiene practice and utilize ALL your skills in a well-paced work environment

    • Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Active Minnesota dental hygiene license in good standing or ability to apply in MN via licensure through credentials
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Local anesthesia/N2O certification preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
