Role summary

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to develop and maintain system management infrastructure for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment. The role requires a Master's degree and 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer. Proficiency in Linux CLI, Bash/Python scripting, Python development, CI/CD principles, Agile methodologies, and Git is essential. Desired skills include experience with automation frameworks like Ansible, containerization (Docker, PodMan), secret management (HashiCorp Vault), IAM solutions (Keycloak), DCIM tools (Netbox), and observability platforms (Splunk).

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who shall be responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools

Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes

Recent software development experience using Python

Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI

Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies

Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills:

Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containers

Experience with Secret Management tools including HashiCorp Vault

Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions including Keycloak

Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools including Netbox

Familiar with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk

Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

Benefits

Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
