Program Manager
Role summary
The Center for Self Advocacy Inc. is seeking a full-time, onsite Program Manager to lead program and engagement initiatives. This administrative role, paying $27-$29 per hour, involves collaborating with the leadership team, drafting and submitting grants, overseeing various programs (including travel training, self-advocacy, peer support, and education), managing staff, building community relationships, and promoting the organization's mission. The position requires strong program development, grant writing, supervisory, event planning, and social media skills. Experience with disability services and community engagement is preferred. The role is based in Buffalo, NY, and requires travel.
The Center for Self Advocacy Inc. Is looking for a full-time Program Manager to run our program and engagement initiatives. This position is 40 hours a week at the rate of $27-$29 an hour depending on experience. This position is classified as Administrative. Position is expected to start ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a key collaborative member of the organization leadership team and assist Executive Director as needed.
- Assist in drafting grant narratives and submitting grant applications to ensure the sustainability of agency funding
- Vouch for grant deliverables and reporting
- Develop, oversee, maintain, monitor and evaluate CSA programs including our travel training program, self-advocacy programs, peer support, and education initiatives
- Represent CSA on committees and attend meetings with community partners
- Manage peer mentors and program assistants, ensure thorough completion of activities undertaken by program staff
- Engage, maintain, and develop relationships with disability service providers in the WNY community
- Complete documentation as required and needed
- Provide external support to staff who monitor social media
- Work with CSA community partners and funders to raise awareness and understanding of our projects, programs, mission, and values
- Provide staff training when necessary and conduct check-ins with program assistants
Qualifications:
- Program development skills at all levels of the development cycle
- Grant writing and development skills
- Strong demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion principles
- Supervisory experience, preferably with people with various abilities
- Strong event-planning, organizing and logistical skills
- Collaborative skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
- Ability to work with people of different backgrounds, ages, and outlooks
- Strong interpersonal, social, and networking skills
- Experience working with social media tools to promote effective public awareness and media relations
- Reliable transportation \*\*This position will require travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Knowledge of the disability service system
- Social Justice and Disability Rights/Justice movement background
- Knowledge of community resources and services available for people with disabilities
- Resource development and fundraising skills
- Understanding of challenges faced by Buffalo communities and neighborhoods
- Ability to speak more than one language is a plus
- Master's degree in human service field or equivalent experience
