Role summary

A respected General Contractor in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their commercial construction team. This role involves project coordination, scheduling, cost control, and overall project delivery for projects valued between $20M-$60M. Experience in commercial construction is required, with a preference for K-12 or institutional project experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with various stakeholders and possess strong communication and organizational skills. This is an onsite, full-time position with a salary up to $110k plus bonus and benefits.

The Opportunity

Join a respected General Contractor delivering commercial construction projects across the Triangle. Working alongside an experienced project leadership team, you'll play a key role in project coordination, scheduling, cost control, and overall project delivery.

This is a great fit for a well‑seasoned Project Engineer or APM who’s ready to take on more responsibility on larger, complex institutional jobs while working closely with an experienced project leadership team.

Requirements

Strong background in commercial construction
Experience on $20M–$60M projects (or larger)
K‑12 school experience highly preferred; higher‑ed / institutional also valued
Solid exposure to project coordination: RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling support, and cost tracking
Comfortable working with field teams, owners, architects, and subs
Strong communication, organization, and follow‑through
