
Program Manager
Role summary
Encompass Health is seeking a Program Manager to oversee all aspects of a program, including operations and patient care, ensuring the highest quality of service in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires effective supervisory and communication skills for interdepartmental relationships, as well as managing staffing, scheduling, financial monitoring, and budgeting. The Program Manager will foster a positive environment, drive performance improvement, and ensure culturally competent, equitable patient-centered care. This position is key to fulfilling the hospital's mission by leading staff, holding them accountable, and promoting an inclusive and diverse workplace.
With guidance from the CEO or director, and some independent judgment, the Program Manager coordinates and supervises all aspects of a program which includes operations and patient care provided by the program, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure that the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times. In addition, the Program Manager:
- Requires effective supervisory skills along with good communication skills for interdepartmental relationships.
- Staffs and schedules to provide adequate coverage for patient services provided by the program
- Communicates the program in the hospital meetings
- Assists with the preparation and monitoring of financial and budgeting concerns for the program
- Maintains open and on-going communication with the hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and business needs are met.
The Program Manager assists in creating an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for performance, motivating staff to improve performance and being responsible for the operation of the department, measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the department's performance. This position will support cultural diversity by ensuring that the delivery of quality, equitable and culturally competent patient-centered care is provided; promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity; and ensuring that cultural diversity and sensitivity training is part of new employee orientation on an on-going basis to meet the needs of the patient population served in the hospital.
