Role summary

Fairstead is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for the day-to-day operations and physical asset maintenance of properties. This role involves inspecting and repairing buildings and equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, cleaning vacated units, and managing inventory. The technician will also participate in an on-call rotation for emergency repairs. Key qualifications include mechanical and electrical repair skills, general maintenance knowledge, and prior experience as a Service Technician. HVAC or CMRP certification is preferred. The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds.

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the property's physical assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
  • Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs on the property as needed.
  • Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
  • Ensure that properties are safe and avoid any danger to their occupants, visitors, and workers.
  • Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants to move in.
  • Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Check safety systems and devices for operational effectiveness monthly.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance problems that may require attention outside of normal working hours.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

    • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures.
  • Knowledge of electricity to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs.
  • General maintenance skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for effective delivery of information.
  • Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.
  • HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift to 70 pounds without assistance.
  • Dexterity and attention to detail.
