Role summary

Seeking a REMOTE Drupal Lead (Contractor) for an international organization in New York. The role requires 5+ years of experience in complex Drupal 7, 8, or 9 enterprise web applications, with at least 2+ years on Drupal 8 or 9. Must have 3+ years of team leadership experience. Responsibilities include serving as a Subject Matter Expert, leading development teams, managing the full software development lifecycle, gathering client requirements, and performing site-building and custom module development. Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, Git, and CI/CD is essential. Experience with REST API integrations and responsive design frameworks like Bootstrap is required. Cloud architecture knowledge is desirable.

Category: IT Services Location: For an international organization in New York, we are urgently looking for a REMOTE (Senior) Drupal Lead with +3 years of Lead experience. We are looking for freelancers/contractors, who can work 8 consecutive hours. All positions are long-term. Candidates need to be able to work the normal office hours of New York, US. Tasks and responsibilities:

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for web operations and maintenance activities and/or new web projects;

Provide team leadership and management of new web projects;

Provide team leadership to small teams of developers working on operations and projects;

Lead software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, configuring, programming, documentation, and unit testing for Drupal;

Working closely with clients, conducting business analysis to determine and document requirements;

Working closely with web developers, providing guidance on implementation of requirements;

Perform site-building activities, including creating and modifying views, contexts and blocks to match functionality specified in wireframes and designs;

Create and test custom Drupal modules;

Evaluate designs, wireframes and other deliverables during the design and user experience phase for potential development issues and flag feasibility challenges when needed;

Profile:

5+ years of experience in developing large complex Drupal 7, 8 or 9 enterprise web applications that include custom views and modules. At least 2+ years of experience should be on Drupal 8 or 9;

3+ years of experience leading teams of Drupal Developers on maintenance and support of Drupal based websites or new projects;

Experience working with clients to specify requirements for websites;

Working experience in managing deployments of Drupal projects with multiple developers across multiple environments;

Experience in developing adaptive/responsive websites using frameworks such as Bootstrap;

Proficiency coding in PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript and other web development tools;

Experience with REST API integrations and mastery of working with MySQL and MariaDB databases;

Proficiency in using Git and related workflows for source control management;

Expertise in unit testing, automated deployment processes, and continuous integration;

Ability to analyze requirements and write detailed technical / functional specifications;

Desirable - Ability to communicate software and system design architectures using tools like Visio and UML;

Desirable - Knowledge of cloud-based services, cloud architecture and information security;

Fluent in English;
