Program Manager
Role summary
A Program Manager is sought to lead a 20-person team across operations, engineering, and support functions, serving as the primary point of accountability for contract delivery. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, managing performance, and engaging with customers and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include ensuring O&M performance, SLA compliance, and successful execution of enhancements, while also managing risks, issues, and driving continuous service improvements in a mission-focused, operational environment. Experience in federal IT program management, team leadership, O&M service delivery, ITIL, and Agile methodologies is required, along with strong communication and risk management skills. A PMP certification and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance are mandatory.
The Program Manager (PM) will serve as the single point of accountability for delivery of all contract requirements, overseeing day-to-day operations, performance management, and customer engagement.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for managing a 20-person team across operations, engineering, and support functions. The PM will ensure consistent O&M performance, SLA compliance, and successful execution of enhancement efforts, while maintaining close coordination with stakeholders.
The PM will also lead transition activities (if applicable), establish operational processes, manage risks/issues, and drive continuous service improvements. Success in this role requires the ability to operate in a mission-focused, operational environment where reliability and responsiveness are critical.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in federal IT program management
- Demonstrated experience managing programs valued at $5M–$15M
- Experience leading teams of 15–50 Full Time Employees (FTEs)
- Strong background in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) service delivery and system sustainment.
- Working knowledge of ITIL service management processes
- Experience operating in Agile or hybrid Agile/O&M environments
- Ability to manage distributed teams and geographically dispersed users
- Strong stakeholder communication and Government interface experience
- Proven ability to manage risk, performance metrics, and SLAs
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Strongly Preferred Qualification:
- Experience supporting DHS or DoD environments
- Direct U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) program management experience
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or Higher)
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification (or higher)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist certification
The salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 annually. The exact salary offered will depend on your qualifications, experience, and alignment with the responsibilities of the role.
