Responsibilities include managing infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, storage, compute, and security configurations. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in cloud engineering or systems architecture, with strong proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP, and IaC tools. Experience in team leadership, cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization is essential. This is a remote, full-time position.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Cloud Architecture & Design

  • Lead design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.
  • Develop multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategies when needed.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability.

2. Infrastructure Management

  • Manage infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
  • Ensure deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and robust monitoring systems.
  • Oversee cloud networking, storage, compute, and security configurations.

3. Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Lead a team of cloud engineers, DevOps engineers, or SREs.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct code and architecture reviews.
  • Allocate resources and manage project timelines.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with product, development, and security teams to define cloud requirements.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in strategic planning for cloud adoption and digital transformation.

5. Security & Compliance

  • Implement security best practices: IAM policies, encryption, compliance standards (ISO, SOC2, GDPR where applicable).
  • Conduct regular cloud audits and ensure data protection.

6. Monitoring, Performance & Cost Optimization

  • Set up monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response processes.
  • Analyze cloud resource usage and optimize costs.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Experience & Background

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems architecture.
  • Proven experience leading cloud projects and/or teams.
  • Strong background in AWS, Azure, or GCP; multi-cloud experience is a plus.

2. Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates).
  • Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
  • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

  • Scripting and automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell.

3. Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master’s optional).
  • Certifications highly preferred: AWS Solutions Architect (Professional), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect.

4. Soft Skills

  • Leadership and mentoring ability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

5. Additional Preferences

  • Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
  • Exposure to ML/AI cloud services or data engineering pipelines.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, AWS Well-Architected Framework).
