Role summary

IXL Learning, a leader in EdTech, is seeking Senior Software Engineers for its San Mateo, CA headquarters. This full-time role involves adding features to existing products and building new ones, working on back-end, application logic, and UI. Responsibilities include driving the development process, design, coding, documentation, testing, debugging, tuning, and providing estimates. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of full-stack experience, strong programming skills in Java or another object-oriented language, and excellent communication and analytical skills. This is a full-time position that requires you to be in our IXL headquarters office in San Mateo, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Work with a team of talented engineers, both starting projects from scratch and also working within the existing code base

Build the back-end wiring, application logic, and UI for our products

Drive the development process for your team, including design, coding, documenting, testing, debugging, and tuning

Provide accurate estimates, evaluate feasibility, and assess new platforms and technologies for project implementations

Collaborate and communicate clearly across multiple development teams to design and release amazing products

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

6+ years of experience in full stack software engineering

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

Excellent programming skills in Java or other object-oriented language

Strong communication skills

Strong analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills

Passion for improving education through technology

The base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 to $200,000 + equity + benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
