Role summary

Mi-Tech Services, Inc., a full-service engineering, design, and construction firm, seeks a Professional Land Survey Technician. This role involves executing boundary, easement, deed, and title reviews, performing boundary surveys, and handling all aspects of construction staking. The technician will also produce 3D models and road corridors. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (or ability to obtain one), a high school diploma or G.E.D., proficiency with Trimble survey equipment, the ability to read engineering plans and construction documents, and a valid driver's license. Preferred experience is 5+ years.

As a Land Surveyor – Survey Technician with Mi-Tech Services, Inc., you'll support a variety of energy, utility, telecommunications, and civil infrastructure construction projects. This hands-on position involves performing construction staking, boundary and topographic surveys, establishing survey control, and collecting accurate field data to support engineering and construction activities. You'll utilize modern surveying technology, collaborate with project teams, and work independently or alongside experienced survey professionals to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.

    • What it takes?

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure or eligibility for licensure is preferred but not required for candidates with demonstrated construction surveying experience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; additional education or technical training in surveying, geomatics, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant land surveying experience preferred, particularly in construction surveying and infrastructure projects
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering plans and construction documents, correspondence, and memos
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar survey processing and modeling software preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that is approved by our insurance provider
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% based on project needs, with remaining work performed remotely or from an assigned office, as applicable
