About The Role
Reddit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead to spearhead our mobile development efforts. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence and shape the future of Reddit’s mobile rendering engine, data layer, and network stack, enabling rich, real-time user experiences. As a key contributor, you will lead a team of mobile developers, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and drive the technical vision for our mobile platforms. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions that enhance user engagement and platform performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of experience in Android or mobile development, with at least 1 year in a technical leadership role. You should have a proven track record working on early-stage products and inventing new technologies to meet novel use cases. Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively are essential. You should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and deliver projects on time. Familiarity with Javascript bridge layers such as JavascriptCore or Hermes is a plus. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Responsibilities

• Lead the mobile development team, providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including technical design, coding, testing, experimentation, analysis, and deployment.
• Review and write technical documentation to ensure clarity and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical strategies and ensure alignment with product goals.
• Continuously learn and adapt to emerging technologies and industry best practices to improve the platform’s capabilities.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and develop solutions that address complex technical challenges.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and other activities to maintain high standards of code quality.
