Role summary

OneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a passionate and motivated Lead Structural Engineer for their Atlanta office. This role involves managing large-scale commercial structural design projects, including preparing preliminary designs, producing structural calculations and construction-ready drawings, and handling construction administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have 4-5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, proficiency in Revit, knowledge of structural analysis software, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Structural Engineer to lead large-scale commercial structural design projects out of our Atlanta office. A Day in the Life:

  • Manage projects and communicate with clients, technical drafting staff, and others outside the project team
  • Prepare preliminary designs for clients
  • Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
  • Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
  • Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
  • Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
  • Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams

    • Necessary Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 4-5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally with some experience in large-scale commercial and/or data center projects
  • Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
  • Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is required
  • Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months
