Role summary

OneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in NY, NY. This role involves project performance and profit responsibility from day one. Responsibilities include preparing preliminary designs, reviewing building codes, coordinating with various engineering disciplines and clients, producing structural calculations and construction-ready drawings, and managing construction administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of structural engineering building design experience, proficiency in materials like steel, concrete, masonry, and light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design. Preferred qualifications include Revit proficiency and experience with analysis programs like RAM Structural System, SAP2000, or RISA. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. A Day in the Life:

  • Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team
  • Prepare preliminary designs for clients
  • Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
  • Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
  • Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
  • Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
  • Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy managing projects

    • Necessary Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction
  • Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
  • Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is preferred
  • Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required

    • Typical base compensation for the Senior Structural Engineer role is between $110,000.00 - $140,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based onindividual and company performance.
